Keep your fixtures clean, not rusty.

Problem
Do your fixtures have rust? Does your pool have discolored water? It is possible that you have corrosion of metal parts. Causes may include low pH, low total alkalinity and/or low calcium hardness. To determine which parameters are low, first test your water with an HTH® Test Kit or HTH® Test Strips. Based on your test results, follow the instructions below.

Solution
  • Low pH: Raise pH in the range of 7.2 - 7.6 (yellow sanitizers) or raise pH into the range of 7.2 - 7.8 (orange sanitizers) with HTH® pH Plus®
  • Low Total Alkalinity: Raise total alkalinity in the range of 60 - 120 ppm with HTH® Alkalinity Plus
  • Low Total Alkalinity: Raise pH in the range of 7.2 - 7.6 (yellow sanitizers) or raise pH into the range of 7.2 - 7.8 (orange sanitizers) with HTH® pH Plus®
  • Low Calcium Hardness: Raise calcium hardness to minimum of 200 ppm using HTH® Calcium Plus

Preventative Maintenance
  • Maintain pH in the range of 7.2 - 7.6 (yellow sanitizers) or 7.2 - 7.8 (orange sanitizers)
  • Maintain total alkalinity in the range of 60 - 120 ppm
  • Maintain calcium hardness in the range of 200 - 500 ppm
